We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office. During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office. The doctors will first review the patient information form. This form can either be mailed to you or downloaded* and printed from our website.
We will then invite the child and any accompanying adult to a private consultation room. (Adult patients are welcome to bring a guest with you.) The doctors will then complete an evaluation examination and discuss their observations with you. If additional information is needed, orthodontic diagnostic records may be recommended. Depending upon the age of the patient and type of problems present, orthodontic diagnostic records may consist of part or all of the following procedures:
- Panoramic radiograph
- Cephalometric radiograph
- Digital images of the face and teeth
- Orthodontic examination

The diagnostic records appointment, depending on the procedures needed, will vary between 30 and 50 minutes. An orthodontic diagnostic records appointment time may be reserved following the new patient visit to allow you to combine two appointments for one visit to our office.
If the patient needs further eruption of the permanent teeth before any diagnostic records are needed, we will set up an appointment to monitor your child’s progress in the future.
When diagnostic records are completed, an appointment will be scheduled to show you the diagnostic information and discuss specific treatment recommendations and the timing of treatment. Your child does not have to be present for the case presentation appointment (unless you want them present to hear the treatment recommendations). It is best if all decision-making parents can attend this appointment.
